Super Intuition®: "The easiest path to quality decisions"

We're currently developing a new way to teach personal decision making. For over 10 years, we've taught it the old way, requiring students to memorize information that a computer can remember better and requiring students to learn to perform calculations that a computer can perform better, leaving little time to cover aspects of wise decision making that humans do so much better than computers. Now, we've developed a computer program, Super Intuition (I+ for short) that performs the drudgery and leaves the important thinking to you.

I+ is currently modeled in Excel. Eventually, a more complete version (described in a white paper for decision scientists which can be viewed by clicking here) will be written in a language that won't require Excel. The current version is free, and future versions will also be free, downloadable from this Web site.

The current version of I+ has the following features:

You have the choice to make less important decisions quickly or to think more deeply about decisions that are complex and important.
Guidance is provided for thinking creatively and critically in structuring decision problems.
You don't have to worry about numbers but, instead, use colors to represent values, while a decision engine handles the numbers behind the scenes.
There is a special component for conflict resolution, since most important decisions involve multiple decision makers.

You can open your own copy by clicking below. Save it to your hard disk. To begin work on any decision, open the file you've saved and re-save it under a name for the decision. That way, you'll always have the original copy to start from.

If you have problems running the macros, open Excel, follow the Tools/Options/Security/Macro Security path, and set your security level to Medium. In Office 2007, follow the Office Button/Excel Options/Trust Center/Trust Center Settings path, and set your security level to Disable All Macros with Notification. The macros will run in Mozilla Firefox but will not run in Internet Explorer; however, if you save I+ to your hard disk, the macros will run from there, regardless of your browser. If you are on a network whose security level is set to High, see your network administrator about getting the network to recognize the Site Safe Seal on the home page of this Web site. Unfortunately, I+ will not run on a Mac.
